Photo reblogged from the city winks a sleepless eye with 17 notes
Attending a Brazilian Grand Prix… there’s nothing like it. And when Ayrton Senna is on top, it is just… an out-of-body experience to be involved, to be in the paddock, to be on the grid. People ask me, “What was your greatest experience, 15 years on the Formula One circuit?” and they’re amazed that I say, “The first time that the race went back to São Paulo, to Interlagos.” Senna is on pole position, it’s the start of the race, and there’s 300,000 Brazilian fans at that circuit… singing “Olé, olé, olé! Senna, Senna!” When the engines started, you could not hear the engines right next to you for the sound of the fans singing his praise, singing with love for his accomplishments, and for love of the person.
